The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And it is no joke. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Almighty God's Truth.
