Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 when the oceans are gushed forth, 3 And the sepulchres are overturned, 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O man! What has made you careless concerning your Lord, the Most Generous? 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 In whatever form He willed, He put you together. 8 By no means! Aye, ye belie the Requital. 9 Lo! there are above you guardians, 10 Illustrious scribes 11 They know what you do. 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 And the Wicked - they will be in the Fire, 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 and which they shall not [be able to] evade. 16 They will never be able to escape from it. Would that you knew what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 The day on which no soul will have the authority over any other soul; and on that day, the entire command belongs to Allah. 19
