Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 and the severally severing 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 the living and the dead? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
