Alshu'araa' 6 of 11
The people of Noah gave the lie to the Messengers. 105 Recall when their brother Noah said to them: "Do you have no fear? 106 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 107 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 108 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being; 109 so fear you God, and obey you me.' 110 ۞ They answered: "Shall we accept you even though it is the meanest of people who follow you?" 111 He said, "And what is my knowledge of what they used to do? 112 Their account is only upon my Lord, if you [could] perceive. 113 And I am not to drive away the believers. 114 I am only a clear warner." 115 They said: "If you do not desist, O Noah, you will be stoned to death." 116 [Whereupon] he prayed: "O my Sustainer! Behold, my people have given me the lie: 117 "Judge Thou, then, between me and them openly, and deliver me and those of the Believers who are with me." 118 So We saved him, and those who were with him in the laden ark, 119 Then We drowned the rest thereafter. 120 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 121 And thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 122

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
