By no means! By the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
