The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said: "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will be expelled (from the city)." 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 "My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do." 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 175
