Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 And We left for him among the posterity. 78 "Peace be upon Noah throughout all the worlds!" 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, 84 When he said to his father (paternal uncle) and his people, “What do you worship?” 85 “What! You desire, through fabrication, Gods other than Allah?” 86 "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 The people invited him to attend their feast). Then he looked at the stars 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak? 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? 95 “Whereas Allah has created you and your actions?” 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 110 He was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a Prophet and among the righteous ones. 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants – some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
