Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 and the burden-bearers 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
