Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
