Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 Yes indeed, man is surely rebellious. 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 What is your opinion - regarding him who forbids - 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 or orders piety? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We will now call the guards! 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him - and prostrate, and become close to Us. ۩ 19
