We swear that We have created the human being and We know what his soul whispers to him. We are closer to him than even his jugular vein. 16 Moreover, there are two scribes, one each sitting on the right and the left, recording everything. 17 There is not a word he utters but an observer is ready (to make note of it). 18 And when the agony of death comes in truth (they will say): 'This is what you have been trying to avoid' 19 And the Trumpet shall be blown: that will be the Day whereof Warning (had been given). 20 And every human being will come forward with [his erstwhile] inner urges and [his] conscious mind, 21 You were heedless of this. Now We have removed your veil and so your vision today is sharp. 22 And his companion (angel) will say: "Here is (this Record) ready with me!" 23 'Cast, you twain, into Gehenna every froward unbeliever, 24 who is an opponent of good, a suspicious transgressor 25 “The one who appointed another God along with Allah – so both of you fling him into the severe punishment.” 26 ۞ His companion will say: O our Lord! caused him not to transgress but he was himself in error far off. 27 Allah will say: wrangle not in My presence, and I had already proferred unto you the threat. 28 My word shall not be changed, nor am I in the least unjust to the servants. 29
