Is he whom We have promised a fair promise which he will find (true) like him whom We suffer to enjoy awhile the comfort of the life of the world, then on the Day of Resurrection he will be of those arraigned? 61 (Let them not forget) that the Day when Allah will call unto them, and say: "Where are those whom you imagined to be My associates?" 62 [whereupon] they against whom the word [of truth] shall thus stand revealed will exclaim: O our Sustainer! Those whom we caused to err so grievously, we but caused to err as we ourselves had been erring. We [now] disavow them before Thee: it was not us that they worshipped!" 63 (The sinners) will be told: "Invoke your partners." They will call on them, but they will not answer; and they will see the torment (and wish) if only they had come to guidance. 64 And [mention] the Day He will call them and say, "What did you answer the messengers?" 65 Bedimmed unto them shall be all excuses on that Day, wherefore they shall not be able to ask one of another. 66 So whoever repented and accepted faith and did good deeds, so it is likely that he will be among the successful. 67 Thy Lord creates whatsoever He will and He chooses; they have not the choice. Glory be to God! High be He exalted above that they associate! 68 And thy Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they publish. 69 He is the only God and it is only He who deserves to be given thanks in this world and in the life to come. Judgment is in His hands and to Him you will all return. 70 Ask them, "Tell me, if God were to extend perpetual night over you till the Day of Judgement, is there any deity other than God that could bring you light? Will you not listen?" 71 Say, "Tell me, if God were to extend perpetual day over you till the Day of Judgement -- is there any deity other than God that could bring you night, in which to rest? Will you not then see?" 72 And out of His mercy He has made for you the night and the day, that you may rest therein, and that you may seek of His grace, and that you may give thanks. 73 The Day that He will call on them, He will say: "Where are my 'partners'? whom ye imagined (to be such)?" 74 And We shall draw out from every nation a witness, and say, 'Produce your proof!' Then will they know that Truth is God's, and there shall go astray from them that they were forging. 75
