In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 and place it in a secure place 21 for an appointed term? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
