Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
