Hizb 46

Jonah too was one of the messengers. 139 He abandoned his people 140 And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, 141 So the whale swallowed him, for he was blameworthy, 142 Had he not glorified God, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness, 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 And [then] We sent him [once again] to [his people,] a hundred thousand [souls] or more: 147 and [this time] they believed [in him] and so We allowed them to enjoy their life during the time allotted to them? 148 So ask their opinion: “(Are you convinced) that your Lord should have daughters and you should have sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Lo! it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 Did He choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you judge? 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Bring your Book, if what you say is true! 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 Glorified is Allah! (He is Free) from what they attribute unto Him! 159 but not so the true servants of God, 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 can cause anyone to fall prey to your temptation 162 Except the one who will go into the blazing fire. 163 "There is not one of us who does not have his appointed place," (declare the angels.) 164 Verily we range ourselves in rows (as humble servants) 165 And we are they who exalt (Allah)' 166 Even though they (unbelievers) say, 167 If we had the account of earlier people with us, 168 “We would certainly be the chosen bondmen of Allah.” 169 But they disbelieved in it; soon they shall know! 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 Most surely they shall be the assisted ones 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from those [who deny the truth,] 174 And (then) see them, so they too shall see. 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 Withdraw from them awhile 178 And wait, for they will soon see. 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
