The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
