1/2 Hizb 33

۞ Surely We had bestowed wisdom upon Abraham even earlier, and We knew him well. 51 When he asked his father and his people, "What are these images to which you are so devoted?" 52 They said, 'We found our fathers serving them.' 53 Said he: "Indeed, you and your forefathers have obviously gone astray!" 54 They said, "Have you brought us the Truth, or are you one of those who jest?" 55 He said, 'Nay, but your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth who originated them, and I am one of those that bear witness thereunto. 56 By the Lord, I will devise a plan against your deities after you have gone away and turned your backs!" 57 So he broke them to pieces, (all) except the biggest of them, that they might turn to it. 58 They asked (on return): "Who has done this to our gods? He is surely a mischief-monger." 59 They said: "We heard a youth talk about them. He is called Abraham." 60 They said, "Then bring him before the eyes of the people, that they may bear witness." 61 They said: Have you done this to our gods, O Ibrahim? 62 He said, "Rather, this - the largest of them - did it, so ask them, if they should [be able to] speak." 63 Thereupon they turned to their (inner) selves and said (to themselves): "Surely it is you who are the wrong-doers." 64 Then they turned to themselves (their first thought and said): "Indeed you [Ibrahim (Abraham)] know well that these (idols) speak not!" 65 (So Abraham) said: "Then why do you worship something apart from God that cannot profit you or do you harm? 66 "Fie upon you, and upon the things that ye worship besides Allah! Have ye no sense?".. 67 They cried: Burn him and stand by your gods, if ye will be doing. 68 'O Fire' We said, 'be coolness and safety for Abraham' 69 And they wished to set a snare for him, but We made them the greater losers. 70 and We saved him and Lot and brought him to the land upon which We had bestowed Our blessings for all the people of the world. 71 We bestowed Isaac and then Jacob on him as an additional boon and We made all of them righteous. 72 And We made them chiefs who guide by Our command, and We inspired in them the doing of good deeds and the right establishment of worship and the giving of alms, and they were worshippers of Us (alone). 73 And Lot -- to him We gave judgment and knowledge; and we delivered him from the city that had been doing deeds of corruption; they were an evil people, truly ungodly; 74 And We admitted him to Our Mercy, truly, he was of the righteous. 75

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
