The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ OF WHAT ARE they asking one another? 1 About the great tidings! 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. 17 On that Day when the trumpet shall be sounded, you shall come in droves, 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
