O People who Believe! Obey Allah and His Noble Messenger, and do not turn away from him after you have heard him speak. 20 Do not be like those who say: 'We hear' but they do not listen. 21 ۞ The most wicked beasts in the sight of God are the deaf and the dumb who have no understanding. 22 Had Allah known of any good in them He would have made them hear, but had He made them hear they would have turned away, averse. 23 Believers, obey God and the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. Know that God stands between man and his heart, and you shall all be gathered in His presence. 24 Guard yourselves against discord among yourselves so that it will not mislead anyone of you, especially the unjust, and know that God's retribution is most severe. 25 Remember, when you were few and powerless in the land, afraid of despoliation at the hands of men. But then God sheltered and helped you to strength, and provided for you good things that you may perhaps be grateful. 26 Believers, do not be dishonest to God and the Messengers or knowingly abuse your trust. 27 And know that your riches and your children are but a temptation, and that verily Allah: with Him is a mighty hire. 28
