The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 and gently take it away; 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
