And whosoever blindeth himself to the admonition of the Compassionate, We assign unto him a satan, and he becometh his companion. 36 And indeed those devils prevent them from the Straight Path, and they think they are on guidance! 37 till, when he comes to Us, he says, 'Would there had been between me and thee the distance of the two Easts!' An evil comrade! 38 (It will be said to them) “And you will not benefit from them this day, whereas you are unjust – for you are all partners in the punishment.” 39 Can you [Prophet] make the deaf hear? Or guide either the blind or those who are in manifest error? 40 But if We should take you away, still We shall inflict retribution on them; 41 Rather We will certainly show you that which We have promised them; for surely We are the possessors of full power over them. 42 So hold fast to all that has been revealed to thee: for, behold, thou art on a straight way; 43 And most surely it is a reminder for you and your people, and you shall soon be questioned. 44 Ask those of Our messengers whom We sent before you, "Did We ever appoint gods to be worshipped besides the Beneficent One?" 45
