The Column (Al-Suff)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth glorifies Allah. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. 1 Believers, why do you say what you never do? 2 Very hateful is it to God, that you say what you do not. 3 Truly Allah loves those who fight in His Cause in battle array, as if they were a solid cemented structure. 4 And [mention, O Muhammad], when Moses said to his people, "O my people, why do you harm me while you certainly know that I am the messenger of Allah to you?" And when they deviated, Allah caused their hearts to deviate. And Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people. 5 Remember when Jesus, son of Mary, said, "O Children of Israel, I am sent to you by God, confirming the Torah that came before me and bringing good news of a messenger to follow me, whose name will be Ahmad." Yet when he came to them with clear signs, they said, "This is merely sorcery." 6 And who doeth greater wrong than he who inventeth a lie against Allah when he is summoned unto Al-Islam? And Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk. 7 Fain would they extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths; and Allah is going to perfect His light, even though averse may be the infidels. 8 It is He who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion, although those who associate others with Allah dislike it. 9
