The people of Lot accused the messengers of lies. 160 When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear God and listen to me. 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said, "If you do not desist, Lot, you will surely be banished." 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 except an old woman who remained behind. 171 Then We destroyed the others. 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
