The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 and gently take it away; 2 And by those who float in space, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
