Al-Najm 3 of 3
Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
True are the words of God the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
