The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
