The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

Woe to every fault-finding back-biter, 1 [Woe unto him who amasses wealth and counts it a safeguard, 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever. 3 Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster, 4 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Consuming One is! 5 (It is) the kindled Fire of Allah, 6 the Fire that shall rise to the hearts (of criminals). 7 covered down upon them, 8 in extended columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
