The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by the sun and its brilliance, 1 And by oath of the moon when it follows the sun 2 Consider the day as it reveals the world, 3 and by the night as it envelopes the sun; 4 By the Firmament and its (wonderful) structure; 5 And by oath of the earth and by oath of Him Who spread it. 6 By the soul, and That which shaped it 7 Then He showed him what is wrong for him and what is right for him; 8 prosperous is he who purified it, 9 and failed is he who buried it! 10 The Thamud denied (the truth) in their perverseness 11 When among them the great wretch arose, 12 Then the messenger of God said to them, "This is God's she-camel. Let her drink." 13 But they gave him the lie, and cruelly slaughtered her - whereupon their Sustainer visited them with utter destruction for this their sin, destroying them all alike: 14 And He (Allah) feared not the consequences thereof. 15
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
Click or tap the small triangles above and below the frame on the left to display the Juz Table of Contents where you can go to any Juz, Hizb, ¾, ½, ¼, or any page within.
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
