Al-Dukhaan 2 of 3

And certainly We delivered the children of Israel from the abasing chastisement, 30 [inflicted on them] by Pharaoh, seeing that he was truly outstanding among those who waste their own selves; 31 And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, 32 And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial 33 These people say, 34 "That [which is ahead of us] is but our first [and only] death, and we shall not be raised to life again. 35 Then bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful." 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba, and those who had lived before them, whom We destroyed as they were sinners? 37 We created not the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, in play; 38 We did not create them both but with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,- 40 the Day when a friend shall be of no avail to his friend nor shall they be helped, 41 Apart from those to whom God is kind. He is all-mighty and all-merciful. 42
