The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); 4 As for one who gives [to others] and fears [God], 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 And as for him who is niggardly and considers himself free from need (of Allah), 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction. 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely; 14 where none shall burn except the most wicked, 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 For, distant from it shall remain he who is truly conscious of God: 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded 19 but only out of a longing for the countenance of his Sustainer, the All-Highest: 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
