So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
