Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)

۞ The Sure Reality! 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 and dost thou now see any remnant of them? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 in a lofty paradise, 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! 25 And had not known what is my account. 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 My wealth has been of no use to me. 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 Which none but sinners eat. 37
