The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca. First revelation of the Quran before The Pen (Al-Qalam)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 Have you considered if he were on the right way, 11 Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We will now call the guards! 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.

Notes and Instructions
توجد تمارين تحفيظ للوضعين العربي الأصلي والعربي المخطوط بأحرف إنجليزية فقط. ولا تحتوي الترجمة الإنجليزية على تمارين حفظ.
There are memorization exercises for the original Arabic and English transliterated Arabic modes only. The English translation mode has no memorization exercises.
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
