Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 he said: "Surely you are an unknown folk." 62 "We have come to you with news," they said, "of what your people doubt; 63 And we have brought unto thee the truth, and verily we say sooth. 64 Depart with your family in a part of the night and walk behind them and let none of you turn round. Go to a place where you are commanded' 65 And [through Our messengers] We revealed unto him this decree: "The last remnant of those [sinners] shall be wiped out in the morn." 66 And the people of the city came, rejoicing at the news (of new arrivals). 67 Said Lot: "These are my guests; do not put me to shame, 68 "But fear Allah, and shame me not." 69 They replied: 'Have we not forbidden you (the people of) the worlds' 70 He said: 'Here are my daughters; take them (in marriage), if you would be doing' 71 By your life, (O Prophet), they went about blindly stumbling in their intoxication. 72 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them at the time of sunrise; 73 And We utterly confounded them, and We rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 Lo! therein verily are portents for those who read the signs. 75 And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road. 76 surely in this there is a sign for those who believe. 77 And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers. 78 So We took vengeance on them. Both are still there on the highway, plain for all to see. 79
