The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 While eyes are downcast 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and gathered his people together 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
