The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and gently take it away; 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
