1/2 Hizb 46
< random >
(Muhammad), recall Our servant Job. When he prayed to his Lord saying, "Satan has afflicted me with hardship and torment," 41 (And it was said unto him): Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink. 42 We restored his family to him with others similar to them, as a blessing from Us and a reminder for men of wisdom. -- 43 and, 'Take in thy hand a bundle of rushes, and strike therewith, and do not fail in thy oath.' Surely We found him a steadfast man. How excellent a servant he was! He was a penitent. 44 Remember Our votaries Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, men of power and insight. 45 Assuredly We purified them with a quality most pure, the remembrance of the Abode, 46 And they are with Us, verily, of the chosen and the best! 47 And call to mind Ishmael and Elisha, and every one who [like them] has pledged himself [unto Us]: for, each of them was of the truly good! 48 This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), 49 the Gardens of Eden whose gates shall be open to them, 50 Reclining on pillows, in it they ask for fruits and drinks in plenty. 51 ۞ and wherein there shall be with them well-matched, bashful mates. 52 This is what you are promised for the day of reckoning. 53 (It will be said to them)! Verily, this is Our Provision which will never finish; 54 But the arrogant will have the worst return: 55 Hell; they shall enter it, so evil is the resting-place. 56 Here is a boiling and an ice-cold draught, so let them taste it, 57 And other torments, like thereof, conjoined. 58 Here is a multitude rushing headlong with you. There is no welcome for them. They will roast in the fire. 59 They say: Nay, but you (misleaders), for you there is no word of welcome. Ye prepared this for us (by your misleading). Now hapless is the plight. 60 [And] they will pray: "O our Sustainer! Whoever has prepared this for us, double Thou his suffering in the fire!" 61 And they say, “What is the matter with us that we do not see the men whom we thought were evil?” 62 Is it [because] we took them in ridicule, or has [our] vision turned away from them?" 63 Such, behold, will in truth be the [confusion and] mutual wrangling of the people of the fire! 64

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
