The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
