And certainly We delivered the children of Israel from the abasing chastisement, 30 from Pharaoh, who ranked high in sin, 31 And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 These people say, 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our fathers [back], if what you say is true. 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba? And those who were before them? We destroyed them; they were indeed criminals. 37 For [thus it is:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in mere idle play: 38 We created them not save with a purpose but most of them know not. 39 Assuredly the Day of Decision is the term for all of them, 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to his friend, and when none shall be succoured 41 save those to whom God shows mercy. Surely, He is the Mighty, the Merciful One. 42
