Indeed We created man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud. 26 And the jinn We created before, of intensely hot fire. 27 And recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a man from ringing clay of loam moulded. 28 and when I have formed him fully and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down before him in prostration! 29 Therefore all the angels, each and every one of them, fell prostrate. 30 But Iblis (did it not); he refused to be with those who made obeisance. 31 God asked him, "What is the matter with you, that you are not among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 He said: I am not one to prostrate myself unto a mortal whom Thou hast created out of potter's clay of black mud altered! 33 "Go hence, execrable," (said the Lord), "from this place, 34 and will be subjected to condemnation until the Day of Judgment." 35 Iblis said: "My Lord! Grant me respite till the Day when they will be resurrected." 36 He said: So surely you are of the respited ones 37 "Till the Day of the Time appointed." 38 [Whereupon Iblis] said: "O my Sustainer! Since Thou hast thwarted me, I shall indeed make [all that is evil] on earth seem goodly to them, and shall most certainly beguile them - into grievous error 39 Except Thy servants from among them, the devoted ones. 40 (Allah) said: "This is the Way which will lead straight to Me." 41 Surely, as regards My servants, you have no authority, over them except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 And indeed hell is the promise for all of them. 43 with seven gates leading into it, each gate receiving its allotted share of sinners. 44
