Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 And make my affair easy to me, 26 And loose a knot from my tongue. 27 That they may understand my saying. 28 And give to me an aider from my family: 29 Let it be my brother Aaron 30 "Increase my strength with him, 31 and let him share my task 32 So that we should glorify Thee much, 33 and remember Thee without cease! 34 Verily, Thou seest all that is within us!" 35 He said: You are indeed granted your petition, O Musa 36 We have bestowed Our favour on you before this 37 when We revealed what was revealed unto thy mother: 38 "'Put him into a chest, then cast it into the river. The river will cast it on to the bank, and there he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and his.' I showered My love on you so that you might be reared under My watchful eye. 39 When your sister went and said: Shall I direct you to one who will take charge of him? So We brought you back to your mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve and you killed a man, then We delivered you from the grief, and We tried you with (a severe) trying. Then you stayed for years among the people of Madyan; then you came hither as ordained, O Musa. 40 And I formed thee for Myself. 41 So go forth, both you and your brother, with My Signs, and do not slacken in remembering Me. 42 Go, both of you, to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 43 "But speak to him mildly; perchance he may take warning or fear (Allah)." 44 The twain said: O our Lord! verily we fear that he may hasten against us or wax exorbitant. 45 He said: Fear not. Lo! I am with you twain, Hearing and Seeing. 46 So go to him, and say: verily we are two apostles of thy Lord, so let go with us the Children of Isra'il, and torment them not; surely we have come unto thee with a sign from thy Lord: and peace be upon him who followeth the guidance. 47 Indeed, it has been revealed to us that the punishment will be upon whoever denies and turns away.' " 48 Pharaoh said, "Who then is the Lord of you both, Moses?" 49 They replied, "Our Lord is the One Who has created all things and has given guidance". 50 (The Pharaoh) said: "And what about the former generations?" 51 He (Moses) answered: 'The knowledge of them is in a Book with My Lord. My Lord neither goes astray, nor forgets. 52 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and therein threaded roads for you, and sent down water out of heaven, and therewith We have brought forth divers kinds of plants. 53 so eat and graze your cattle. In this there are signs for men of understanding. 54
