And We delivered the Children of Israel from the shameful doom; 30 They (had experienced) under the Pharaoh. He was certainly a tyrant, guilty of excess. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge, above all beings, 32 And We gave them signs in which lay clear favours. 33 Verily these! they say: 34 'There is nothing except the first death, we shall never be revived. 35 Bring us our fathers, if what you say is true' 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba, and those who had lived before them, whom We destroyed as they were sinners? 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them for Our own amusement. 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 Verily the Day of Distinction is the term appointed for all of them. 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to another, nor shall any be helped, 41 Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. 42
