1/2 Hizb 45

۞ Gather together the evildoers, their wives, and that they were worshipping, 22 Instead of Allah, and lead them to the path to hell; 23 "But stop them, verily they are to be questioned. 24 How is it that you are not helping one another? 25 No, today they will resign themselves in submission, 26 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 27 They said, “It is you who used to come to us from our right, in order to sway.” 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 we had no power over you; but you yourselves were a rebellious people. 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 For we had led you astray. In fact we ourselves were astray." 32 Then verily, that Day, they will (all) share in the torment. 33 As such We shall deal with the evildoers. 34 Verily when it was said unto them: there is no god but Allah, they ever grew stiff-necked. 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 You will indeed taste a painful punishment, 38 and be rewarded only according to your deeds." 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 for them awaits a known provision, 41 a variety of delicious fruits; and they shall be honoured 42 In Gardens of peace. 43 on couches facing each other. 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 White, delicious for the drinkers. 46 no headiness will be in it, and they will not get drunk thereon. 47 And with them shall be damsels of refraining looks, large-eyed 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? 53 He will say: -- Do you wish to know where he is now?' 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 for had it not been for my Sustainer's favour, I would surely be [now] among those who are given over [to suffering]! 57 "Is it (the case) that we shall not die, 58 except for our first death? Are we not going to be punished? 59 Indeed, this is the great attainment. 60 For the like of it should the workers work. 61 So is this welcome better, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Verily, We have caused it to be a trial for evildoers: 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire: 64 The fruit thereof is as though the hoods of the serpents. 65 The dwellers of hell will eat that fruit and fill-up their bellies. 66 And behold, above all this they will be confounded with burning despair! 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 They found their fathers in error, 69 and they run in their footsteps. 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 See how those who were warned met their end! 73 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 74
