۞ And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. 23 Be humble and merciful towards them and say, "Lord, have mercy upon them as they cherished me in my childhood." 24 Your Lord knows what is in your heart. If you are righteous, then He is indeed forgiving to those who turn (to Him) in repentance. 25 (iii) Give to the near of kin his due, and also to the needy and the wayfarer. (iv) Do not squander your wealth wastefully, 26 Behold, the squanderers are, indeed, of the ilk of the satans - inasmuch as Satan has indeed proved most ungrateful to his Sustainer. 27 But if you turn away from them to seek the Mercy of your Lord, hoping to attain it, then speak to them with gentle words. 28 And let not thine hand be chained to thy neck, nor stretch it forth to the utmost stretching, lest thou sit down reproached, impoverished. 29 Your Lord gives abundantly to whom He will and sparingly to whom He pleases. He is informed and observant about His servants. 30
