In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 and place it in a secure place 21 Till a limit known? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 The living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 And those that distinguish distinctly, 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 When the stars are obliterated, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. (5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
