Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 given to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a Garden on high, 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 raised couches, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 cushions ranged, 15 and outspread carpets. 16 DO, THEN, they [who deny resurrection] never gaze at the clouds pregnant with water, [and observe] how they are created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
