And certainly We delivered the children of Israel from the abasing chastisement, 30 From Pharaoh. Indeed, he was a haughty one among the transgressors. 31 We knowingly exalted them (i.e., the Children of Israel) above other peoples of the world 32 And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 Are these better or the people of Tubba and those who went before them? We destroyed them for they were a criminal people. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is in-between the twain sporting. 38 We created them not save in truth; but most of them know it not. 39 Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,- 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to another, nor shall any be helped, 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
