He is the Originator of the heavens and the earth. How can He have a son when He has had no mate? And He has created everything and He has full knowledge of all things. 101 Such is Allah, your Lord. There is no god but He, the Creator of everything: so worship Him. And He is unto everything a Trustee. 102 No eyes can penetrate Him, but He penetrates all eyes, and He knows all the mysteries, for He is all-knowing. 103 Means of insight have now come unto you from your Sustainer [through this divine writ]. Whoever, therefore, chooses to see, does so for his own good; and whoever chooses to remain blind, does so to his own hurt. And [say unto the blind of heart]: "I am not your keeper." 104 Thus do we explain the signs by various (symbols): that they may say, "Thou hast taught (us) diligently," and that We may make the matter clear to those who know. 105 Follow that which is inspired in thee from thy Lord; there is no Allah save Him; and turn away from the idolaters. 106 And had Allah willed, they had not associated. And We have not made thee a guardian over them nor art thou unto them a trustee. 107 Do not abuse those whom they worship besides Allah lest they become disrespectful towards Allah’s Majesty, through injustice and ignorance; likewise, in the eyes of every nation, We have made their deeds appear good – then towards their Lord they have to return and He will inform them of what they used to do. 108 And they swore by Allah vehemently in their oaths that if any sign came to them, they will certainly believe in it; say, “The signs are with Allah, and what do you people know that if they came to them, they will not believe.” 109 so long as We keep their hearts and their eyes turned [away from the truth,] even as they did not believe in it in the first instance: and [so] We shall leave them in their overweening arrogance, blindly stumbling to and fro. 110
