A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
206 verses, revealed in Mecca after S (Saad) before Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ AlifLaamMeemSaad. 1 A Book revealed unto thee,- So let thy heart be oppressed no more by any difficulty on that account,- that with it thou mightest warn (the erring) and teach the Believers). 2 (People), follow whatever is revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other guardians besides Him. However, you pay very little attention (to Our words) 3 How many a township We have destroyed! Our scourge fell upon them at night, or when they were taking midday rest. 4 And their declaration when Our punishment came to them was only that they said, "Indeed, we were wrongdoers!" 5 Then We will surely question those to whom [a message] was sent, and We will surely question the messengers. 6 Then verily We shall narrate unto them (the event) with knowledge, for We were not absent (when it came to pass). 7 The balance that day will be true (to nicety): those whose scale (of good) will be heavy, will prosper: 8 And whosesoever balances will be light - those are they who have lost themselves in respect of Our signs. 9 And We have given you (mankind) power in the earth, and appointed for you therein livelihoods. Little give ye thanks! 10
