A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif Lam Mim Sad. 1 The Book has been sent down to you; so let your chest have no constriction because of it, in order to warn thereby and as a reminder to the believers. 2 Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember. 3 And how many a [rebellious] community have We destroyed, with Our punishment coming upon it by night, or while they were resting at noontide! 4 Yet their cry, when Our punishment came to them, was nothing but that they said: Surely we were unjust. 5 Then We will surely question those to whom were the messengers sent, and We will surely question the sent ones. 6 with full knowledge, We shall tell them what they did, for We have never been away from them. 7 And the measuring out on that day will be just; then as for him whose measure (of good deeds) is heavy, those are they who shall be successful; 8 Those whose scale will be light, will be their souls in perdition, for that they wrongfully treated Our signs. 9 We established you in the land and provided you with a means of livelihood there: yet you are seldom thankful. 10
